Homework is necessary for practicing skills that have been learned or for enriching classroom experiences. In order to help students get homework done, students will use a planner and folder to return work. Nightly homework usually consists of a math sheet, practice fact ∆’s, and reading. Long term projects will be assigned throughout the year.
Homework is expected to be turned in on time, the next day unless noted. Please check your child’s planner for assignments or notes and initial nightly.
Research has shown that the way to become a better reader is to simply READ! In addition to written homework, independent reading should also be done nightly. Your child is expected to be reading for at least 20 minutes nightly, fill the log, and have it signed.
It is the Grade 3 expectation that uncompleted work & homework is completed for some of recess.
